AUTHOR'S AND PAINTING'S NEWS:
Antonio Zancanaro (Padova, 1906-1985), better known as Tono, was a Paduan painter, engraver, illustrator and mosaicist. The drawing of 1981 was achieved in his hometown and shows up a bicycle, a symbol of the celebrated sport, behind which stand three females figures with her eyes fixed to a point that is outside of the picture. On the top Zancanaro writes a block capitals slogan-inn about the sport. The lack of light and academic performance emphasizes the caricatural aspect of each individual item. Style, technique and subject are similar in another work that Zancanaro draws in 1982 (see listing QU30) for the "5th Pedalata Padovana".
